About Me...

When it comes to technology, I'm religiously agnostic. It is rare to find technologists that can talk intelligently about the pros and cons of different operating systems, vendors, applications, etc. without being overly biased to one side. I certainly prefer some technologies over others, but I try to let requirements dictate solutions instead of my own personal preferences. I'm interested in a variety of areas, but over the past few years I've spent time with Linux (since 2006), web development (since 2004), network management/configuration (since 2000), and directory services (since 2000). I have a wide experience base, ranging from having a masters level education, IT instruction, network administration, running a business, developing property, to bodybuilding and being a door supervisor! All of which make me uniquely qualified to appreciate and find novel uses of IT and technology.

However, I am not 'just' a technology evangelist, I have a wide variety of other interests - which is the point of this site:

  • To show how I have used technology, and particularly IT, in areas traditionally thought incompatible.
  • To show some of my professional achievements.
  • And lastly, as a reference for friends, clients and people with similar interests.
